I did allow myself a nice slice of apple pie yesterday which was an amazing reward.

But ya I'm doing good. I do admit I do eat a bit of junk food everyday but I think a max of 200 calories from my whole day goes towards junk food so.. not too bad. It's all about balance and this is the way I do mine.

Holy schnikes. Today, I did Boxing Bootcamp at the gym. I didn't cry but I don't think I can raise my arms above my shoulders. Even typing is strenuous. Worst of all, my hands are stinky from the gloves. LOL. But, I made it through and I will go back. But tomorrow's workout will be swimming with the silver sneakers crowd. Something a little easier...;o)

I wonder if that person gained weight trying all those poutines... somebody did the same think for smoked meat in the span of like 2 days or something... oh boy.

oh ya, don't know about Shwartz but at Chenoy's you can get a smoke meat poutine. I've never had that, but it sounds beautiful.

actually poutine from harvey's in Montreal isn't too bad, it's definitely better than McDonald's.

Poutine, you can eat it with anything. Most of the time it's just fries, gravy, cheese, sometimes they have it with chicken or beef bits but the most "traditional" is the former. Plain and simple and oh so good.

As for Au Pied du Cochon, I went last time and my stomach reacted weird to their food, might be old duck or I was unlucky.. but their "pudding au chomeur" was amazing. It was like sugar pudding or something amazing.

You have to try or smoke meat too. I had no idea just HOW famous we were for our smoked meat until I googled it and all the results were from Montreal. We really do have good food!

And ya our bagels ARE better than NYC because our bagels are still made the traditional way with the wooden stove, and there is a huge difference. I've tried like 99c per bag bagels where they were perfectly round and perfectly disgusting.

Try either Fairmount bagel or St Viateur bagel shop.

I'm going to check the poutine site now!

Oh go to Shwartz for smoke meat, or if you want to travel more west, our newspaper rated Smoke Meat Pete's as 1 in Montreal, it's HEAVENLY!

Snowboarding burns so many calories!!!

When I go for the day, and I'm out there for like 6 hours, I'll put something like 2 hours on Traineo (just the pure time I'm atctually boarding, not including line up times and stuff) and it's something like 600calories an hour. And a friggin workout for the quads.

So when I go, I let myself have an awesome poutine cuz I burnt so much without much fuel (cuz I don't bring bars with me on the hill...)

if you don't know what a poutine is, google it! amazing Quebec invention. Not that healthy but amazing.

I've been in a bit of a slump. I think I am suffering from diet fatigue and have been unable to get back on my old workout routine because of school and general tiredness. And I know that the fatigue comes in part because I'm not exercising as regularly. But I worked out hard on Saturday and ate really well. For the first time, feeling satiated and staying (I'm estimating) within an appropriate caloric count. I'm getting back on it this week. Wish me luck.

Now starting a my second goal and last 10 ponds. These are a bear! I have a surfing vacation coming up so I have to vary my workouts for core strength, swimming endurance, and upper body conditioning. I think wearing a bathing suit and not wanting to drown will be serious motivation!

****************************

Part III: I had some diet fatigue over the holidays. That and the flu helped me to add some weight over the season.

Now, I'm getting back into it and commiting "40 days" until Easter to stay focused on my goals. My friends have given up candy and other things for Lent so I'm looking at it as making it easier to stay on track.

**************************
For the summer, I've changed my goals. I have been healthy (with times of diet fatigue) but I have been mostly in a maintenance mode.

Now, I have a new commitment to drop some more weight to be squarely within the "normal" BMI category. I am committed and can do it by the end of the year!
